William Larue Weller History
In 1925, A man named William Larue Weller was born in Kentucky. He fought in a war in the year 1840 and then he came back home to Louisville. He and his brother opened a store for selling alcohol.

He was good at advertising and said his whiskey was good and sold at fair prices. He put the green mark on the whiskey bottle. When he died in 1896, his sons kept the whole business ongoing.
In the year 1992, one of Weller’s grandsons joined with another distillery. But, the distillery closed in 2002, but in 2008, another distillery bought the Weller brand. Now, the Buffalo Trace Distillery makes Weller Bourbon, and it is still very popular today.
